At a meeting of the Town Council in November 2014, members resolved to set aside a budget of £500 for the purpose of introducing a pilot voluntary community warden scheme for the control of dog fouling and littering in Penryn.
Dog fouling is one of the most common complaints that the Town Council receives and volunteer community wardens would be trained in recording the details of offenders so that a penalty notice can be issued. It is hoped that by providing a presence in the town, Community Wardens will encourage dog owners to clean up after their pets and will also provide dog poo bags if they are caught short without any. Wardens would also be able to assist with reporting fly tipping and littering throughout the town.
If you would be interested in carrying out this role or would like to know what would be involved then please contact Penryn Town Council for more details on 01326 373086, call in to the Town Council offices on Higher Market Street or email [email protected]
